Welcome to the CIBSE Part L and F consultation web page

CIBSE is preparing a response to the proposed changes to Parts L and F of the Building Regulations and is seeking your input. The consultation document that came out in June is 788 pages long! CIBSE appreciates that our members have limited time to respond and may have specialised areas of interest. We have therefore constructed this website to make it quick and easy for you to respond to the various parts of the consultation.

To get started click on the volume of the consultation you are interested in:

• Volume 1: Contains an introduction, proposals for improving compliance, building performance, Accredited Construction Details (ACD), Training and dissemination, and a section on Policy for revisions beyond 2010
• Volume 2: Proposed changes to the Approved Documents and Compliance Guides for Part L
• Volume 3: Proposed changes to the Approved Documents and Compliance Guides for Part F

Within each volume the document is split into chapters. CIBSE has provided brief overviews of the changes that are proposed in each chapter, you can then choose from one of the following actions: COMMENT, READ MORE or DISCUSS.

The consultation paper has a series of response forms for each chapter, we have put them online for you to fill in, these are available by clicking on COMMENT under each chapter. The READ MORE section allows you to read that chapter of the consultation document in full.

You may find that it's not straight forward to respond to the questions in the response forms. We have therefore provided the opportunity for debate in the discussion forum by choosing DISCUSS. Feel free to start your own thread or respond to other comments. This will enable us to develop a more effective consensus response by analysising the results of the discussions.

The consultation closes 17 September, so CIBSE is seeking your responses by 4 September.
